George Banks was born in Galston, Ayrshire, Scotland and emigrated to United States in 1853. After a brief residency in Lucas County, Iowa, where he worked at one of the first coal mines to be put down, he came to Chase County, Nebraska and homesteaded in 1886.He and his wife Annie Robertson, who came with him from Scotland, where she worked in a mill, raised 10 sons together in Chase County.This page is a work in progress, please check back soon for more information.I
